Kids of all ages who are learning to play acoustic instruments or sing folk/bluegrass songs are welcome. Bring your instruments and join in the fun! Pre-requisites to participate are knowing how to play D, G, A, and C chords and/or find those 4 notes on your instrument — or have a song ready to sing or play with us!
An adult must stay on-site with children at all times.

Families wishing to participate only in the jam, without going through the museum, may park in the back “Staff and Volunteer” parking lot — drive past the main entrance and look for the additional parking signs. Or, let the folks at the front entrance know that you are here just for the jam and they’ll direct you to the Empire House Theater. Museum admission is not required to participate in the jam.

KBA jams are open to public.
Bring your acoustic instrument and jam with us
Whether you're a season picker or a beginner, you'll be comfortable joining the KBA Jam. Beginners are encouraged to play along whenever they can or take a turn if they've learned a new song. Bluegrass is the primary genre and acoustic instruments are what this jam is all about.
Our mission is to promote bluegrass music. No need to be a KBA member; everyone is welcome.
